Jeremy Pauley pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 72 months in prison for transporting stolen property after a federal investigation showed he bought and sold human remains that were supposed to be cremated and returned to families.
He explained why he took the plea. Partially, it was because he had no money to continue to trial.
“At that point, if I went to trial, I didn’t think I could get a fair shake,” Pauley said. “Because my face was blasted from here to Australia.”
