Step inside the home of Portland area artist Mar Talavera, and you’ll be overwhelmed by cuteness. Boxes of mushroom-shaped plushies, furry snails and merchandize covered in rosy cheeked cartoon characters have taken over the garage. The living room walls are lined with rainbow-colored shelves of stickers, stationery and keychains. It’s all adorable. And totally unplanned. Talavera, 25, intended to study art therapy in college, but the pandemic delayed those plans.
