Today (November 16) we commemorate Louis Riel, a leader, advocate, and visionary for Métis rights and identities, whose unwavering commitment has left an invaluable mark on our history. Join the Indigenous Student Centre to learn about historical moments within Métis history; including Louis Riel’s life, the Red River and Northwest Rebellions, and why the Métis celebrate Louis Riel Day today. Participants will also gather to learn the significance of finger weaving to Métis culture and finger weave their own bracelet.
