Some of my pieces for my senior art exhibition! Artist statement: My pieces expose the realities of being in the world of sports from both the male and female perspective. Through my chosen mediums, I uncover the unrecognized realities of both athletes and women working in athletics. The paintings are carefully rendered to show moments of hardship and grit for the athletes but also expose the weight of expectation and pressure that often goes unnoticed. They also depict the hidden realities of a woman working in a male dominated field by showing scenes of mental struggle through realistically painting them.
