The year was #2016. I was engaged to dr.marvinksmith and said yes to the dress with just my mom there with me (I’m sad I don’t have any pictures). We took our engagement photos and I was deep into wedding planning with naomizoraevents. 👰🏽 I was a 3L at miamilawschool. As Editor-in-Chief of rsjlr, I was eating, sleeping, and breathing all things planning and bringing our symposium on mass incarceration to life. I had just been accepted into the Tax LL.M. program and made the decision to stay an extra year to graduate with a dual degree. Law won Dean’s Cup after a long drought—go law, beat med! Spring 2016, I was tapped to join Iron Arrow, the highest honor at the University of Miami. 🙌🏽 Most days started in the law review office at the library and ended at soulcycle (when I wasn’t teaching indoor cycling at univmiami).
