“A law that puts the value of a crocodile over a human being, that is the definition of evil,” says Bob Katter, a member of Australia’s parliament. Katter is calling for lifting the ban on crocodile hunting in Australia, which was imposed in the 1970s to protect the deadly reptiles nearing extinction. Since then, the crocodile population has surged. Much of Katter’s electorate is farmland, where cattle are sometimes eaten by saltwater crocodiles. Katter also says that he used to swim in the local waters, but now it’s too dangerous because the waterways are infested with deadly crocodiles. #crocodiles #northernaustralia #salties
