Before Jesus came, lambs were used by God's people for sacrifices. God's law demanded payment for sin. Lambs were that payment, but they were never enough. They had to keep sacrificing day after day. Until the Lamb of God, Jesus, arrived. He made a sacrifice for us that was enough - himself. Jesus died on the cross, once for all.
