Tonight’s Warrior of the Game is Levi! Shortly after his 5th birthday, Levi developed complications from strep pneumonia that led to a serious heart infection called infective endocarditis. He also developed sepsis and suffered several strokes. Levi needed urgent open-heart surgery, during which his mitral valve was replaced with a mechanical valve. He now takes daily blood thinners and will require ongoing surgeries as he grows. Despite everything he’s been through, Levi is a thriving nine-year-old who loves soccer, playing with his brothers, and inspiring others with his resilience and bravery.
