Howard University and Bowie State University have partnered up for a new artificial intelligence initiative, to help strengthen AI literacy across both campuses
This four year project called ASCEND-AI, will train faculty to integrate ethical and responsible AI into their courses.
This initiative is supported by a US Department of Education Grant and will serve hundreds of students and faculty each year preparing them for changes in the workforce beyond graduation.
📍An article on
thedig.Howard.edu states:
“The initiative is led by LaTanya Brown-Robertson (BA ’96, MA ’98, Ph.D. ’03), associate dean for academic innovation and student success in Howard’s College of Arts and Sciences.
ASCEND-AI will serve about 400 undergraduate and graduate students and 50 faculty members each year across both campuses, with plans to expand training to secondary school teachers beginning in the third year.”
