Last year I built a budget-friendly DIY outdoor couch cover using a tarp and PVC pipe to protect our outdoor furniture from the elements. After the first rain, which felt more like a nonstop waterfall from the sky, I realized water was pooling in the middle and causing the cover to sag because the PVC pipe was flexing. So I fixed the biggest flaw by replacing the center PVC pipe with lumber to create proper water runoff. I also added small side hooks to keep the cover tight and prevent the wind from blowing it off. So far, this updated DIY outdoor couch cover is working much better. Now I’m just waiting for real rain to see how it holds up long term.
