CONFIRMED: Oxford University Press has announced Peace as Oxford Children’s Word of the Year 2025, with six-seven crowned Children’s Slang Word of the Year.
35% of children chose peace, narrowly followed by a third (33%) choosing AI and 21% opting for resilience.
The research from oxfordchildrens, which was carried out in 2025 and surveyed opinions from almost 5,000 children across the UK aged 6–14, highlighted children’s awareness of current affairs.
Meanwhile, Six-seven has also been named the Oxford Children's Slang Word of the Year 2025.
Almost half (47%) of children chose six-seven as their slang word of the year, followed by aura (24%) and delulu (7%).
