Ever think about this when your toddler refuses the plate?!👀
Sometimes we get carried away w portions bc we’re serving what we THINK they should eat. But when the plate feels crowded, it can actually be overwhelming for little eyes to process
Then it turns into an immediate “no” bc the whole plate feels *ruined* & you feel like it’s a waste
Alsooo when we load up way more of their preferred food, they may fill up on that first and not have the chance to adventure out bc they’re already full 🙂↕️
A helpful starting point can be 1-2 tablespoons of each food per year of age, then add more as the meal goes on!!
You can even let them help plate the food or offer some autonomy with two choices “do you want cucumbers or tomatoes?” (not endless choices “what do you want”)
Get them involved & remember they’re still learning about food, so don’t stop serving those foods they previously refused!
SHARE with another toddler parent who needs to hear this (even if it’s your spouse who’s also...
