ICE agents detained five-year-old Liam Ramos and his father Adrian Conejo Arias at their home in the Minneapolis suburb of Columbia Heights and even attempted to use the little boy as bait to lure his mother out of the home according to witnesses at the scene. Liam and his family are asylum seekers from Ecuador and came to the US in 2024 legally after applying for asylum according to their lawyer Marc Prokosch. Columbia Heights city council member Rachel James, who was at the scene, told Reuters that Liam was put into the back seat of a black SUV and taken away by officers: “I can’t imagine what was going through Liam’s mind, but I can tell you what I saw on his face.
