The ASUC Senate indefinitely tabled a resolution proposing Uber vouchers that would have subsidized late-night rides for students at its first regular meeting of the spring semester Wednesday. As part of the program, all undergraduate students would have been eligible for up to three late-night vouchers subsidized at $7 per ride. The vouchers would have been valid for rides within a 3-mile radius of campus starting in February and ending in May. The ASUC Senate meeting also included a resolution for the ASUC to formally recognize genocide in Sudan, expressing “solidarity with Sudan and its people.” It asserts that ASUC elected officials will organize campuswide fundraisers and awareness campaigns in support of Sudan.
