Sara did Canada Reads back in 2011, and she championed Essex County by Jeff Lemire. She spoke so highly about the experience, and I’ve been looking forward to my turn ever since.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve loved reading. It’s honestly one of my favourite things to do. Crawling into bed with a book feels like the most incredible reward after a long day. The amount of hours I’ve spent reading on tour buses, in mini vans, in rental cars, and on airplanes while on tour is impossible to count. Before tablets and smartphones and high-speed Wi-Fi, books were how we saved ourselves from insanity, boredom, and loneliness on the road.
