Today marks 53 years since the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade made abortion legal nationwide. This should be a day to celebrate the right to critically important healthcare. But in 2022, Roe was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court's Dobb's decision.
Since the fall of Roe, due to increasing abortion bans and restrictions, mothers have needlessly lost their lives. Ciji Graham, Amber Thurman, Candi Miller, Josseli Barnica, Nevaeh Crain, Porsha Ngumezi, and Tierra Walker didn't survive their health crisis. They should all still be here. But their children and families were left grieving the very preventable deaths of their mothers.
Most Americans agree that every person should be able to decide if they're going to have children, and if so how many.
No matter who is in charge, we will continue to fight for the right to make decisions about our own bodies, lives, and futures. Share your story at the link in bio.
