At the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, para snowboarding appeared on the Paralympic stage for the very first time. The debut race quickly turned into a historic moment for Team USA.
In the men’s snowboard cross event, Evan Strong, Mike Shea, and Keith Gabel delivered outstanding runs on the same course. Their performances resulted in a complete podium sweep, with the United States winning gold, silver, and bronze in the first ever Paralympic para snowboard race.
