Today marks the 50th anniversary of #titleix, landmark legislation in higher ed that outlawed discrimination based on sex, paving the way for more inclusive campuses nationwide. Among the most visible impacts of Title IX is reflected in women’s athletics. Since the law was introduced in 1972, participation in women’s athletics programs has increased significantly. Oglethorpe University is proud to be the home of a strong, supportive community of women’s athletics teams, including basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, track & field and volleyball.
