Franklin friends, this has been one for the books. We are so incredibly thankful to have power, and seeing the sun finally peek out feels like a deep breath we all needed. ☀️ I’ve honestly never seen ice do damage like this. The mix of rain and sleet freezes onto tree branches and adds hundreds of pounds of weight. When the sap inside freezes, trees can literally split and explode. It’s loud, scary, and happening all over our neighborhood. Things have settled down now and the rain has stopped, which is a huge relief. We’re still headed into single digit temps for a couple of days, so recovery will take time. Once the sun keeps shining, the melt will start and conditions will improve.
