Madera County issued the Central Valley Mega Pit, a private burnout and drifting venue, a temporary restraining order earlier this month, citing permitting and zoning violations. County officials say there is no record of the Central Valley Mega Pit applying for or receiving a county business permit. The county also says the 160-foot asphalt pad used for events was also built without a county permit. The venue, located on private property, has been operating for more than a year and hosts car events that draws thousands of people. The owners say they previously applied for a permit under a different business name before buying the property.
