Throwback to 2016, when our Human Factors students participated in the 16-day NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operation (NEEMO)! The team developed a laser-based system that transmitted three different LED colors across varying distances to determine the optimal color and range. By identifying the most receptive color, scientists and engineers can use the data to design LED-based communication systems for extreme environments.
