• Kanchanaburi: A couple of hours from Bangkok, Erawan national park is here with its blue waterfalls & easy hikes. Best visited: Nov–Feb
• Koh Tao: Tiny, laid back backpacker island with great snorkelling. Best visited: Jan–Apr & June - Aug
•Koh Samet: Easy beach escape just a few hours from Bangkok, very family friendly. Best: Nov–Apr
•Koh Mak: Quiet, chilled, local-feeling island away from the tourist chaos. Best visited: Nov–Mar
•Koh Lanta: Laid-back beaches & the *best* sunsets. Good for all types of traveller Best visited: Nov–Apr
