Last week, Liberal Arts students met with Gene and Roz Chaiken, the philanthropists behind the Chaiken Scholars Program. Established in 2008, the program provides scholarships, academic support, and funding for out-of-classroom experiences that prepare students for success after graduation. It also fosters a strong sense of belonging, offering a built-in community of peers students can grow with and turn to for support along the way. More than 70% of Chaiken Scholars are first-generation students. Since its founding, the Chaikens have awarded scholarships to 1,580 liberal arts students, including 135 for the 2025–26 academic year.
