As the Hampton University Basketball team prepares to breakdown the huddle before the start of their game vs Campbell University. Kobe was my favorite player as a kid. My earliest basketball memories consist of watching him on sportscenter every morning after my daily dosage of Elmo & Sesame Street. Eventually I realized I was more than a fan of his game. It felt like I was looking at a reflection of myself in the future. The dedication to the craft, the attention to detail, the mentality to never quit, the swag and confidence he possessed were all things I wanted to have.
