BIG update since our renovation disaster… When we first started converting this old chapel, I thought the kitchen belonged along a long stretch of wall with an old fireplace we should have reinstated — not realising how incredible (and necessary!) they are in a big, cold chapel. Fast forward to our first winter — it was freezing. We ended up switching the kitchen and lounge around to bring the fireplace back. That first kitchen wasn’t my dream one anyway, just what fit our budget at the time. Luckily, we removed it carefully and it found a new life in someone else’s rectory renovation — a total win-win! Since then, we’ve built our DIY dream kitchen, and now we’re onto the next chapter: creating a complete DIY library. This one feels extra special — a space full of books, character, and everything we’ve learned along the way.
