Life can change in an instant. It’s so easy to take life for granted, like that song goes, “you only know you love her when you let her go”. We often only appreciate the true value of our health when it’s threatened or gone. And I saw that realisation, of how precious life really is, on a daily basis in the A&E department. I try to mentally take myself back there from time to time, because it’s so easy to lose sight or forget that.
