On October 9, 2023, in Game 2 of the NLDS between the Braves and Phillies, Bryce Harper was doubled off to end the game, allowing Atlanta to tie the series 1–1. In the Braves’ clubhouse afterward, Orlando Arcia was overheard mocking Harper, saying: “Ha-ha, atta boy, Harper.” Two days later, in Game 3, Harper answered emphatically. He hit two home runs, drove in four runs, and led the Phillies to a 10–2 win. After both homers, Harper stared Arcia down while rounding second base. When asked about it, Harper didn’t deny it: “Yeah, I mean, I stared right at him.” Arcia later said his comment wasn’t meant to be heard and was just clubhouse banter. The Phillies would go on to win the series 3–1. Nearly two years later, in September 2025, Harper brought the moment back — wearing cleats that read “atta boy” in a game against the Braves, a clear callback to Arcia’s original comment from the 2023 NLDS. - follow ( slugger.report ) for insane baseball content - #baseball #mlb #baseballplays #...
