Five years ago, Arthur Sanchez was fighting for every breath. Today, he’s celebrating a life filled with moments he once feared he’d never get to see. 🧡 After COVID-19 severely damaged his lungs in the early days of the pandemic, Arthur’s only chance at survival was a double lung transplant. In April 2020, the expert team at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center’s Norton Thoracic Institute gave him that second chance, becoming one of the first in the nation to perform a lifesaving lung transplant for a COVID-19 patient.
