One of my favorite storylines that came out of 2025 was the incredibly unexpected return of Sunnybrook, Alberta’s Shay Marks. Marks hung up the rope in the later stage of 2021, and has been focussed on his own bucking bull operation since. He has been bringing great bulls to the PBR Canada Cup Series events since then, but he hit a hurdle in 2025. . . . . . . . . The Bucking at the Brook PBR, an event run by Marks, along with a great group of volunteers surrounding him was in its second year. The event, being one of those later season events, with rodeos and points standings being counted, not to mention the arduous sport of bull riding beating riders up, struggled for entries. Instead of just rolling with the punches, Marks would grab his gear bag from home and enter himself. . . . . . . . . He covered a bull that day, and being healthy and having a long career previously in the sport, he capitalized. The questions from there was whether he would keep going and push for finals. But ...
