The White House has responded after Bruce Springsteen released a protest song dedicated to ICE demonstrators and victims of fatal federal shootings in Minneapolis. In a statement issued to Variety, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said: “The Trump Administration is focused on encouraging state and local Democrats to work with federal law enforcement on removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from their communities – not random songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information.” Springsteen’s track, ‘Streets of Minneapolis’, names Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both killed by federal agents in January, and refers to ICE as “King Trump’s private army”. The song has since been widely shared online and embraced by anti-ICE protesters amid growing national outrage. #BruceSpringsteen #ICE #WhiteHouse #USPolitics #ReneeGood #AlexPretti #lgbtqia
