Being able to make a last-minute decision to fly home and spend the weekend with my niece — this is what I’m working for.
Not long ago, I landed a “stable” remote 9-5.
And then I left it.
There were a lot of reasons, but the biggest one? The freedom I had built over years of freelancing — and years before that at a no-rules startup — wasn’t something I was willing to trade anymore.
Cue internal spiral: if the life/work setup I spent two years building doesn’t feel quite right anymore, and neither does the “safe” alternative… then where does that leave me?
I don’t have the full answer yet.
But I trust myself enough to figure it out.
(And honestly... that feels like more security than any job could offer).
