This Temple Station hit and run case might already be solved.
A vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant in the city of South El Monte and left behind a pretty important clue: a Nissan emblem at the scene. Not exactly subtle.
The Fire Department responded and shut the water off, while a Temple Station deputy handled the investigation and hopefully stayed mostly dry. Investigating a collision is one thing — doing it next to a rushing stream of water and a very heavy fire hydrant is another.
No injuries were reported. Just a lot of water, one stubborn hydrant, and some evidence that made this case a little easier to crack. Great teamwork by all responding units.
