A massive search is underway after 6 inmates escape a northeast #Louisiana jail, Sheriff’s Office says. The inmates escaped Thursday night from the River Bend detention center in Lake Province. Most of the escapees are in the lockup pretrial, except for Slaughter, who is a state Department of Corrections inmate, according to Sheriff’s Office documents. The escape comes after 10 inmates escaped last spring from the #NewOrleans jail, leading to national headlines and a monthslong search.
