Bungalow 5195 on the Universal Studios Lot is where Alfred Hitchcock kept his production office during his Universal years. Originally known as Bungalow 105, this office was renumbered when Universal updated building numbers across the lot in the early 1990s. By late 1959, as he began work on Psycho, Hitchcock had moved his offices onto the lot, working out of this very bungalow through 1979, with documented office activity into early 1980. The door is marked with his unmistakable silhouette, a quiet tribute you can actually glimpse from the Studio Tour tram as it rolls past the front lot bungalows. It is one of those real working pieces of studio history most guests never realize they are seeing. Universal honors his legacy beyond the Bates Motel stop.
