President Trump said on Friday that Kevin Warsh, a lawyer and former Federal Reserve official, was his pick to be the next chairman of the central bank. Warsh, if confirmed by the Senate, would succeed Jerome Powell, who has faced a barrage of attacks from the Trump administration over the bank’s reluctance to more aggressively lower interest rates.
