Two of our Clinical Advisory Board members, Dr. Shannon and Dr. T, teamed up in Baltimore to provide education to over 75 parents, athletes, and coaches from FCA girls lacrosse. Their workshop was titled “Don’t say don’t: effective motivation and communication for youth athletes.” The evening started with fellowship sharing hot cocoa and cookies, followed by an engaging lecture and small group discussions highlighting challenges in sport today. Dr. Shannon and Dr. T then provided specific guidance to effectively motivate and communicate with high school athletes. One athlete remarked to their parent that this is their favorite activity that FCA puts on each year!
