After 200 years, this might be the oldest continually-occupied home in Franklin County ➡️ Pictured here is the Chenoweth House, located near Harrisburg, a few miles southwest of Grove City. Thomas and Elijah Chenoweth, both veterans of the Revolutionary War, purchased the land from Lucas Sullivant of Franklinton in 1799. Around 1806, they finished a cabin on the property, which would become the house we see today. The home’s façade was updated through the years, but the log cabin serves much of its structural frame – the current owners say that when replacing windows, they could still see the original logs in the oldest section of the home. It stayed in the Chenoweth family for more than a century before it was sold to the home’s only additional owners in 1960.
