This time of year is bittersweet for me. At the end of 2019, on Christmas Day, my little brother Segun lost his battle with cancer and left us. I still remember what a beautiful blue sky day it was. His soul was so light that it burned away the winter clouds. This used to be one of his favourite songs and was the one he’d always ask me to perform for him. Since his passing, I’ve found it hard to sing. Even here in the rehearsal space, I could feel the grief that never ceases to rise to the surface as I sing the words. ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ is the final track on ‘How Should I: Part I’ in honour of his memory.
