BE AWARE! Clemson and several other Universities are seeing an increase in phone texting scams, which is called Smishing. These text messages impersonate someone you know, like President Clements or a Department head, but are typically from an unknown number. Key tips to remember: 1. Be suspicious of any message that asks for personal or account information. 2. Never provide passwords in response to a text. 3. Don’t click any links in a text message. *Best practice is to not respond to text messages from unknown numbers Learn more: ccit.clemson.edu/cybersecurity/cybersecurity-alerts/#2-9-23 #Smishing
