American actress and professional poker player Jennifer Tilly revealed the moment she realized she was a queer icon in a 28 January interview with Gayety.
Tilly said she knew she had been embraced by the LGBTQ+ audience after her iconic role in the 1994 film ‘Bullets Over Broadway’.“I’d say I first realized I had a gay following after I did ‘Bullets Over Broadway’ and gay men were coming up to me at clubs going, ‘charm, charm, charm, charm, charm.’ And I was very pleased, of course, because gay men are fabulous,” Tilly said.
She went on to share her love for her following, saying “Yes, I’ve always had a big following in the LGBTQ+ community, and I’m very proud of it.”
