I just heard about the passing of my friend Richard Simmons. I first met him in the early 70s when he was the maitre d’ at a Beverly Hills Hotel. He was one of the funniest persons I’d ever met. Always gracious. Always kind. Then years later I got to know him a bit better when we were healthy competitors during the 80s fitness craze.
