🫐 Powdery Mildew on Blueberries Is Going Global⁠ Have did you notice it on your plants?⁠ ⁠ A newly studied fungus, Erysiphe vaccinii, is spreading rapidly on blueberry crops worldwide.⁠ ⁠ Researchers at North Carolina State University tracked this pathogen across multiple continents. One strain has been detected in China, Mexico, and California, while another has surfaced in Morocco, Peru, and Portugal.⁠ ⁠ Unlike other fungi, E. vaccinii can reproduce asexually in many regions—meaning it only needs one parent to spread. In the United States, it reproduces both sexually and asexually.
