The School of Human Ecology is proud to announce Kaina Darina Martinez '25 as the school’s winter 2025 commencement flag bearer! She was also named a notable grad by @uwmadison—a campus-wide honor that celebrates extraordinary Badgers who have taken advantage of what the university has to offer. Martinez is a proud soon-to-be Master of Science in Human Ecology alumna. The applied graduate program prepares professionals who want to solve societal problems and take on leadership roles within organizations that promote the well-being of individuals, families and communities. As a first generation college graduate who grew up in Belize, Martinez prioritized finding a university that felt like home: "Once I visited the School of Human Ecology, I felt that sense of community that I was looking for," she says.
