Congratulations to Consumer Science teaching faculty Linda Lepe, who is the recipient of the 2025 School of Human Ecology Teaching Innovation Grant. In her courses and as the program and academic director of the Financial Planning and Personal Finance programs, Lepe is transforming student engagement through authentic, active learning experiences. By designing interactive activities for every module of her Introduction to Personal Financial Planning class, students tackle grounded, real-world challenges like analyzing completed household tax returns, debunking credit misconceptions and determining financial health of households and clients. The $2,500 grant supported Lepe’s redevelopment of the course. Lepe piloted the course activities during the fall 2025 semester. #HumanEcology #PersonalFinance #TeachingInnovation
