Marge Engelman MS'65 PhD'77, alumna of the Related Art and Continuing & Vocational Education programs, was one of the first female administrators at UW-Green Bay. She led outreach to nontraditional students on tribal lands, in prisons and reformatories, at local malls and even at the Manitowoc nuclear power plant. "We went everywhere to provide education," Engelman says. Engelman shares fond memories with late School of Human Ecology Related Art Department faculty Ruth Danielson Davis and Helen Louise Allen, as well as Ruth Ketterer Harris, the first appointed curator of the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection. All three women were instrumental in developing Engelman's creative confidence and joy of textiles. In recent years, the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection displayed and accepted some of Engelman's lace doilies into the teaching collection.
