A properly performed buccal massage should never be painful. When done correctly, it uses precise, controlled, and gentle pressure that works with the tissue and nervous system, not against it. Excessive pressure inside the mouth can irritate nerves, compress blood vessels, and cause unnecessary discomfort or protective muscle tension. Buccal massage is meant to release, soften, and restore balance, not to force tissue or provoke pain. If it hurts, the technique is not correct.
