Why do we call this technique Esthetic Buccal Massage? Because it is very different from a standard buccal massage. In this method, the intra-oral work is done exclusively for esthetic purposes, with a technique that is gentle, precise, and protective of the tissues. Although we work inside the mouth, the touch is very light. The glove is fully saturated with oil to avoid irritating the mucous membrane, and we always warm and prepare the tissues before any deeper work. When approaching the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), we warm, vibrate, and gently pulsate first. This softens the joint so it does not contract. Two principles make Esthetic Buccal Massage unique: 1.
