Today is National Women & Girls in Sports Day 🎊, which “honors the achievements of women athletes, coaches and leaders, and the power of sports to unlock their limitless potential,” according to the Women’s Sports Foundation.   To celebrate, we’re spotlighting some of the incredible women and girls who make NYRR’s programs and races so special. 🙌 First up, shoutout to all the participants and alumnae of Run for the Future, our free program that introduces young women in high school to running.    We’re also proud to present two annual women-only races: The #MaybellineWomensHalf and the #MastercardMini10K.   We also have to highlight our staff—two-thirds of our Executive Leadership Team are women and we’re proudly led by the Chair of NYRR’s Board of Directors, Nnenna Lynch.   And finally, we salute 🫡 the thousands of women—including elite and professional runners—who participate in our races each year.    Show some 🩷 in the comments for all the women and girls in your local running ...
