Welcome to Day 3 of 20 Days of Procreate Play and today we’re leveling up from linework to color that feels dimensional.
In this prompt, you’ll block in your local colors first (the “true” color before lighting), then start adding shadows and highlights to sculpt form. You’ll also practice key Procreate workflow moves that make your art cleaner and your process more shareable, like naming layers, using ColorDrop with threshold control, and adjusting colors with Hue/Saturation/Brightness or Curves.
You’ll practice:
-Setting a simple background color
-Building a clean layer stack (Linework / Figure / Hair / Outfit)
-Blocking in flat shapes + using ColorDrop threshold
-Using adjustments (HSB + Curves) to push warmth, depth, and value
-Keeping “mistakes” because timelapse viewers love the real process
