Does anyone know why we just decided to have the most soulless, colorless, bland design ever? Any explanation or input on how to make our country look less depressing would be welcome. We have so much land, we could have done literally anything and it would have been cooler than what we got. It’s so depressing, especially in the winter, and especially when you travel and see all the color in the world and it makes you feel happier just by looking at it. And I don’t think it’s wrong to say there’s a direct correlation between that and people’s moods, either. As far as I understand, developers just wanted to push out new communities as fast and cheaply as possible, so design was an afterthought. On top of that, HOAs generally prevent people from painting their houses. And it wasn’t always this way—we have many beautiful colonial/historical towns. Not sure how we got so lost along the way, but I believe making our communities a little more vibrant would be good for everyone’s wellbei...
